In the framework of the 18th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction with Mobile Devices and Services (MobileHCI 2016), to be held on September 6-9, 2016, the OPTIMUM project is supporting the organisation of the workshop "Mobile-Persuasive Technologies to Support Sustainable Behaviour".
MobileHCI 2016 is the premier forum dedicated to innovations in mobile, portable and personal devices, and access-enabling services. MobileHCI brings together people from diverse areas and provides a multidisciplinary forum for academics, hardware and software developers, designers and practitioners to discuss challenges and potential solutions for effective interaction with and through mobile devices, applications and related services. MobileHCI maintains a wide range of programme aspects that encourage the exchange of research results, ideas and future research endeavours.
The call for papers for the OPTIMUM-supported workshop on mobile persuasive technologies, to be held during the conference, can be accessed here.
Over the past decade, support for environmental and sustainable behaviour has been a fast-growing area in HCI research. Mobile persuasive technologies that support sustainable behaviour are attracting great interest, as mobile devices offer an extremely pervasive and widespread means of reaching and influencing target users.
The aim of the OPTIMUM workshop is to investigate recent developments in mobile persuasion for sustainability and to explore future approaches and concepts in this area. It is hoped to promote a deeper understanding of the challenges and directions of future research with regard to mobile persuasive technology for sustainability.
